The Texans are not a good team. They are 1-4 against expected playoff teams. Obviously not counting the Jaguars in this since they aren't likely to make the playoffs either.

The Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos are probably all going to the playoffs. That leaves 1 wild card spot open for the Steelers/Ravens Bills/Patriots depending on which of those teams doesn't win their division.

And we host your Texans here at Arrowhead, for what will likely be an elimination game for you guys since that's the tail end of a 3 game run of Bills, Colts, Chiefs.

Texans lost all five games by one score. Defense kept them in every single game. Wasn't like they didn't have a chance to beat the Rams, Buccaneers and Broncos. One play cost them a win in all three of those games. It was frustrating but that's the way the NFL season can go. You either overcome it or you don't.

The game at Seattle against the Seahawks. I'll give you that. Seahawks kicked our ass and should've blown us out but the Texans defense forced four turnovers and made Sam Darnold look like the old Sam Darnold from the Jets on that strip fumble in the end zone for a defensive Touchdown.

After the Texans play the Titans on Sunday (chance to reach 5-5). They'll play the Bills, Colts and Chiefs.
That will determine whether or not they make a playoff push. To be fair. I'll give them a chance to prove it.

They'll have multiple starters coming back including C.J. Stroud. Tytus Howard and Jalen Pitre. Maybe Ed Ingram (decent left guard).

It would've been nice for the Texans to have made a trade for Breece Hall before the trade deadline last Tuesday.
Not having Joe Mixon all season long has been frustrating. But Mixon may actually be close to a practice window.

If the Texans can make it to December anywhere near the final AFC wild-card spot they'll get it. Would help if they beat Chiefs (to own tiebreaker).
They own the tiebreaker with the Ravens which is huge. They can still own the tiebreaker with the Jaguars. That will come down to conference record.

I just think it's silly to discount the Texans. I hope they go into Kansas City and beat your Chiefs. You'll be convinced if they beat the Bills and Colts beforehand?

I'm just worried when the Texans beat the Bills in a couple games on Thursday Night Football. <3
To reach 6-5 on the season. People are going to claim the Bills are frauds. They lost to 2-7 Miami. etc.

Even though the Texans beat the Bills last season and the defense held Josh Allen to 9-for-30 passing (30% completions) and 131 passing yards.

In fact the Texans typically beat Josh Allen (1-0 in playoffs and 2-1 in regular-season).

The Texans defense is getting closer to figuring out Patrick Mahomes also. They went to work against him at Kansas City in the divisional round of the playoffs last January. Holding Mahomes to 177 yards passing. But Travis Kelce bailed you out with 117 of those receiving yards with a huge red zone TD (that guy owns us!!). I have to praise Travis Kelce. He made some Hall of Fame plays in the passing game. I also thought the officials protected Patrick Mahomes with a couple questionable 'roughing the passer' calls.

But soon the Texans will be back in Kansas City with a chance to redeem themselves for that tough playoff loss.

I'm least worried about Daniel Jones. The Texans will be ready for the Colts. It'll be fun when they play twice.
Playoffs are possible. All I'm saying. They just need to go 3-1 in the four games vs. Bills, Chiefs and Colts x2.
I think the Texans will smash the Cardinals, Raiders and Chargers. They smoked the Chargers 32-12 in the playoffs.

The Texans defense will have no trouble making Justin Herbert look like a rookie. They picked him off four times in the playoffs.

Come on. I respect you enough to read every word you put out and I had three eye procedures done last week.

Did the New York Giants just fire Brian Daboll? Wow. He'd be on my short list for the new Houston Texans offensive coordinator in 2026 should they decide to make a big splash like that. Along with Mike McDaniel if the Miami Dolphins fire him after the season. They may not be great head coaches but as an offensive coordinator those guys are excellent.

That being said I'm still wrestling with my emotions regarding Nick Caley as a rookie offensive coordinator. I understand there's a learning curve. It's just been so frustrating how much talent the Texans have on offense (even with all their key injuries) and how long it's taken to put together a competent offense.

People like you say the 4-5 Texans suck and that's fine. But they'd be 8-1 right now with any decent offense. Their defense has been that sensational all year long.

Buy or Sell Brian Daboll as your team's new offensive coordinator in 2026? I think I'm going to buy his stock all day long. He can coach up an offense.

Forgive me, I just don't see a scenario where the Texans get into the playoffs, or the South ends up with two playoff teams.
