Him being a muslim should be the least of the worries. He is a demagogue, someone who promises stuff people want to get votes/support while having no idea how to realize those promises. Rent subsidies? Who is supposed to pay? Taxpayer? Borrowing from "somewhere"? Freezing rent costs => companies won't build anything driving the costs higher when the charade fails.
Commies and far right thrive with their "solutions" when people are desperate. Their methods are also similar. Think of Stalin and Hitler as their final extreme forms.
