People keep saying that necros suck for pvm p8, but people keep playing it in sub-optimal ways…

It is only true for monsters killed by allied units.
You always get the xp from monsters that YOU kill, no matter how far away.
If you read my post, linked above, and you understand the mechanics of xp, fire golem’s holy fire aura redirecting aggro, thorn’s mechanic, etc…
You end up with a build that is:
Cheaper (insight instead of infinity+insight)
Faster density destroying (much more total dps when played this way)
Faster boss killing (fire golem alone can kill p8 hell diablo in ~7s, he’s more dps than you and your merc combined)
Much more tanky (fire golem’s holy fire is redirecting all aggro on him, and you don’t need to telestomp anything to try to get a faster kill to use CE)
No double (or even triple) sunders like some people suggested
No time wasted to resummon IG from a bunch of crap insights (he’s much harder to keep alive than on a summoner)
The above is true from p1 to p8.
Don’t use CE, don’t use IG, don’t use infinity.
Those are the 3 baits leading to a weak poison nova build.
