As things stand, I think economically and due to many unhinged world leaders, we may have passed the point of no return. I have optimist mind which relies on a pair of pessimist eyes. Sigh.

Having good wraps required mcdonalds to warp an entire market with its supply chain for 6+ million pounds of freshly sourced english cucumbers, a drastic change from its scaled 54 million lbs of pickles since the fresh cucumbers are perishable. They also took 60 seconds to assemble on average, compared to 10 seconds for a burger. Cutting wraps from the menu was purely an economic squeeze by a company that was favoring higher profit margins and turned to promotions like "get some rapper to slap his name on an otherwise unremarkable burger". Prices went up, quality went down, market share went down, profit margins went up, investors got a stiffy, brand became tarnished and people bring it up as the #1 example of runaway inflation. And what did they do? Bring back wraps. Except these wraps suck ass, have no fresh vegetables because that would require a supply chain and time spent slicing. Instead they are stripped down tacos, just a meat+cheese+lettuce+sauce in a tortilla and thats it, no cucumber, no tomato, no tortilla strips. That's the shitflation of 2025

Oh? Nice. Volunteering and/or helping the needy is a priceless mindset. Considering you have a family and other responsibilities, just be careful. A possible sinking ship (not you, but in general) may not be able to do much. Thank you for what ya do!

I'm mostly helping with advertising for the collections and helping move donations to pantries themselves within the community because I have a wide social circle and the ability to do so! I'm friends with a guy who runs a local newspaper and actually started it, I'm just helping get results for our community.

I can't imagine making a mockery of poor people and children going without food, what a shit take.
