Isn't a spirit monarch not an ideal shield for sorcs?

Its Str Req is too high

They say it is generally worth investing the 200 hit point loss to get the 156 strengh. Usually you do get strength points from other gear. 100 vitality for sorc is 200 hit points. Not a huge loss, for the good stats you get on the spirit monarch.

Mosthe the fhr abd fcr makes up for the loss in life. Getting to 48fhr and in my case the 86fhr bp makes it impossible to die imo

Even if mon/ward were str req 200 ppl would still use it haha definitely worth the investment
