it is of course too early to seriously speculate for 2028 but what we'd need is;

the state of the country / economy / wars throughout 2028, anything 2027 or earlier is basically irrelevant
whether ANY charismatic candidate can emerge from the current democratic cesspool instead of us getting either milquetoast nonentity or baby eating monster again
how well democrats can suppress the current radical streak and turn towards a more inclusive message, because right now they've somehow driven black men, muslims and hispanics into the arms of republicans which deserves a medal for biggest electoral misplay in modern history
