Americans and beyond are going to need a lot more than food stamp handouts if things keep trending. We are 199% heading to UBI, anyone who truly believes otherwise I don't think is able to fathom the future. We're not that far off (15-20 years) for significant replacement of jobs via robotics powered by AI. Its not cost effective yet and AI isn't good enough yet, but give it 15 years or so. This is the one time I don't think you will see significant replacement in the workforce of other new jobs created from the transition like we did in industrial revolution times and the past 30 yeras.

Seems rather West Coast specific? At least those tech companies, they take really good care of their cultured people and thrive under the state policies they lobby for. Good for them.

The entitlement take away that would spur momentum would be medical benefits which I don't think are at risk atm beyond some VA admin shit.

I think US is at some inevitable pivot though, either leadership goes with it or they all get swapped out (both Red and Blue). The model of continuous growth, for example 7% returns on investments, or inflation goals, or other growth metrics US gov seeks do not yield stable long term. People don't understand the doubling effect at the last compounding, it's fast at the end.

Change coming regardless.
