I've only watched TG, and only the first arc, I was told the second isn't worth it and it's completely different.
I heard the manga stays true though. I loved the first season of Tokyo Ghoul and it got me into anime again after a long period of time.

Anime is fine and I like it but I prefer reading, on the whole. I have several lists of recommendations I just need to get into them.

I've been utilizing the local library to help drive up their numbers so I chose Tokyo Ghoul as a physical medium since they had a large collection
