I don't think I've ever said he was trash, but he's definitely not good. He's a franchise QB because ya'll signed him to a 275m contract.

The point, though, is that he had a giant contract extension, and you don't get those if you're not a franchise QB.

He makes $17m this season. $24m next year, $35m in 2027. It jumps up to $47m in 2028, with a $7m dead cap hit if they cut him after that season. By time they get to 2028 though, he's either going to be the QB going forward with a new extension, or there will be a new QB in the building.

Hunter hasn't really proven anything (only 7 games into his NFL career, too early) and I definitely wouldn't call him a Franchise player right now. He is special at CB, but they don't play him enough on Defense. He can be a good WR in the NFL, but he's special at CB. But they need to play him there and let him shine.

Okay so that's 5 though, I don't think anybody at this point says Travis Hunter isn't a franchise guy, they just haven't locked him down to being just a corner, which he'll be elite at. not yet at least.

They just need to let the horse run and play him full time both ways. He has already shown elite ability in limited CB reps. They're just focused on him as a WR. Which would explain why he has dropped so many passes this season and is shying away from contact.

Strange was our most reliable pass catcher, but him going on IR really hurt. He was also a beast in the run blocking as well.
