Statistics and analytics doesn't work that way.

The Colts are 49 points better than the second place team.

Will their pace slow down? Very likely given the way statistics works, but in such a short sample size as the NFL is in a given season, it doesn't actually have to. The toughest remaining opponent for the Colts is the Chiefs, which should be a juggernaut battle, but beyond that, should be in firm control of the #1 seed barring any injuries.
