I'm fairly new to anime/manga but the one I've truly enjoyed I've caught up on in anime and manga digitally currently so I'm looking for some similar.

Black Butler / Kuroshitsuji is the only one that's truly held my attention

Obviously DBZ is a fond memory from childhood but not as much my speed as an adult. Fruits Basket is another I was fond enough of both the manga and the anime.

looked up black butler, was it pretty good?
attack on titan was great
death note was decent
parasyte is interesting, and netflix has it as a show instead of an anime

i think anything studio ghibli is pretty family friendly as well

Black Butler is exceptional imo, I'm not ENTIRELY worried about family friendly since no one is really watching with me

I've heard good things about Attack on Titan and Death Note, I don't think I ever heard of Parasyte


Editing to say I watched all the anime associated and I'm caught up with the digital manga ATM for BB

I'm not sure why I've never been into it but I'm trying to expand my horizons in reading and shows and I have so many friends who love it I figured I'd give it a go!
Excited for the new adventure.

I am just throwing random ones out, if you want more gore there are others for that, if you want more slice of life or relashiip building type animes, plenty of those. If you like Isekai or "another world" there are a dictionary thick list of those but only a select are good imo

Garden of Sinners was also good, but it's one of those which you might have to rewatch in a certain order to understand the complexity. The movies are not in chronological order, good watch either way though
