New to the game but am still trying to figure some things out. Lately, I've been finding wells and then just spamming whistle to fight mobs and then when I get V or higher items, throw in well to farm mats for the shrine to try to power level. I used to try to do the catacombs in its entirety to get a map but felt that to be a bit of a slog. I tried mapping too, but it seems bad to me.

Simply curious what the preferred or better method is since I'm still figuring this out.

Personal choice. As for myself.

From level 1 to 25, I will clear catacombs in hopes of maps, if I fall in a Trap Door I will remake catacomb and not bother clearing (oh, small note: if you spawn monsters and remake cata without killing them, you will not gain any Prof points from the first wave of monsters respawned in new catacomb, you have to kill them off first.).

If I am lucky with catacombs at a higher level to clear, I will try to clear it, otherwise I will remake catacomb is spun to a location that is back at the beginning. Note: if it is not too far, I would use /set easy 1 to minimize monster spawns and then /set easy 0 for unexplored areas.

I never use whistle, and if I have 0 whites and find a well, I will use arrow keys to spin on the spot, not whistle, I prefer different level monster spawns compared to set level monsters.

Haven't done maps for awhile, but I use to use them at certain levels hunting whites or items.

Ooooo walking around spawns higher leveled monsters? Do you know the possible range of those monsters? I didn't know that

It is a low range... -3/+3 levels if I remember correctly ... random, whistling is set to your character level

lol how high is yours and how fast do you level? You've intrigued a noob

Easiest/fastest way to lvl is in a group climb with other players (but they tough to find/be allowed in).

Next easiest is to load up on jubilance and just sit in town. Doing this takes forever though. I dont exactly how long it takes to go from 55 to 71 with max jubilance.

Next easiest is solo whistling. If you have already done master quest with this character then you need to set game to easy mode so you dont get 3 monsters to spawn.

Next easiest is with catacomb/map exploring. But you need better gear for those 60-71 levels.

Using a well with low lvl whites will give you some experience…..but its very little. Jist like making essences will also give you some experience.

I like to Master quest my warlock over 140 times.

Then I just Level him to be to be able to kill other people's sneaky.

For speed,: you organize a group to whistle. And spam multistrike/cast


Drops: you whistle to higher levels and explore or you actually go for mirror maze quest which I fear your gear is not even close to be able to do.

Why is this ladder bad?

Because its gone for far too long.
