you can run pc thread for honest opinions.

and you can follow similar threads on rings/ammy for bin/sold info.

gl.

I get the impression — based on previous experiences — that in the PC section, although there are honest people, there are also plenty of vultures looking to scam unsuspecting folks like me.

On the other hand, the search system on this website, while useful and sufficient for unique items, leaves much to be desired when it comes to rare items.

As I said before, I’d like to learn how to appraise my items myself and not have to depend on other people’s opinions. There must be some method or system for doing so, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

play the game and learn by playing. the ring you posted was crap btw so dont know what you're getting at

That’s a very generic answer, my friend. It’s obvious that playing is how you learn the most, but I refuse to believe that the only way to get some basic understanding of pricing is by playing EVERY possible class and build. That would take me months, and honestly, what attracts me the most about this game is its economy and trading — even more than the gameplay itself.

By the way, the ring wasn’t trash — it sold for 350, and it was a decent ring for a Java. My items usually fall within that range — tens or hundreds of FG — and what really worries me is finding something that goes beyond that and selling it for too little due to lack of knowledge.

Depends on the item but for example if you have a eth fools or high ed cruel claw i would post that in the assassins discord price check as the discord is filled with highly knowledgeable assassin players plus plain players actively looking for items. But the price check channel in that discord is highly active and is filled with top tier jsp users to give you a good indication of price or if an item is charsi food. Pm me your discord user and I can add you or pm alphasin for an invite mate. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks a lot! I had read something about the Discord groups where they do price checks, but I hadn’t really looked into it yet.

Rings are valued by points - u can find max values on the nearly easily. Maximum 6 point rings

6 useful mods with max or nearly max stats are valued very high. Usefull are fcr, life, mana, stats and res. Dual leech also, but other mods are useful for PvP

Amulets - obviously 2 skills or 3 to certain skill like light skills, combat pala etc

For amus u need to see certain BPs of classes - 17 fcr for Sin, 18 fcr for Druid, 20 for Din etc

I paid over 1k for 2/10 sorc but very usefull other mods.

Lastly for Amus - high stats are desirable, dex for Din, str for Sorceress etc

GL

Yeah, I more or less understand that part, and I know which stats to look for on items. I mean, I can tell when something is valuable or not, but my problem comes when it’s time to put a price on the item — especially when its stats are less obvious and it’s more of a niche item. For example, this melee assassin amulet → https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=107159718&f=268

check Mr.Cooley on youtube - u can find several good video there

I will do it, thank you buddy :)

Play the game. PVP and PVM.
See whats good and bad.
PVP me - get stomped
then go see chinese shops for rates of common items

gds

Look at the site, see what people are selling, and talk to people in the game. Eventually you'll get a feel for it.

and if you are not sure about an item, see if you can find topics like that item or something similar

If you don't find anything, just pm people you think are experienced and sell a lot. There are also many friendly games here :)

Thank you so much :)

the main issue is that rare/crafted items, especially rings/amulets have very varied prices depending on who wants the item.

9/10 ppl would pay 1k for amulet X but 1/10 would pay 2k and u cant quantify that

same goes for rings/pelts/boots/gloves, there simply isnt a fixed price for rare/crafted items.

That’s exactly what I was thinking — that rare items, rather than having a fixed or estimated price, depend largely on the buyer’s needs, and therefore the price is mostly up to the seller’s discretion. Thanks a lot, this comment is quite enlightening.

your issue seems to be that you're overvaluing garbage items. your ai slave fails at identifying what's viable and what's not, because of course it does.

2 recent examples:
you've been trying to sell a +1 barb 30 life 20@ res amu (not even lld) labelled as "perf life and res roll"
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=107204115&f=268

you're claiming that these charsi food java gloves are underpriced @ 100 fg

Yeah man, it just makes absolutely EVERYTHING up. What hurts the most is that I paid €20 for GPT Plus for nothing xD

The gloves are probably "fine" at 100 fg but the barb ammy def useless. I've been moving rares for decades so I know what to look for. Cool part is I have rares this generation of d2 hasn't seen posted on NL yet. Can ask me if you have questions about boots/amulets as i do those the most. It's crafted i get prefixes and suffixes mixed up on a lot

well the ring is trash. the ~50 fg price checks were accurate, someone just decided to massively overpay for it

This comment confuses me. That ring might not be particularly valuable, but I received at least 3–4 PMs from people interested in it and another 2 PMs from people telling me not to sell it for less than 250–300, since the FCR/ML/LR combo is valuable for Javazons.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I get the impression that you only deal with very high-end items, and anything below average seems like trash to you. It’s like the 2 Java/20 IAS gloves I posted — you said they’re Charsi, but I’ve seen many posts from experienced players selling similar gloves for 300–500 FG. I don’t mean to contradict you for no reason; you probably know much more than I do.

i think there is a point of being realistic with the state of the non ladder games/population, it is simply not big enough to stabilize item value for anything outside of runes, igg, token, anni, torch, charms, runewords, uniques...

i thought you will find a straightforward formula for niche items, as even if it is at the right price point, you might have to wait around for the right buyers to show up..

would be a valuable ring with flat mana on it too. it's incredibly basic (and common) without it. scroll the chinese house and you'll find hundreds better for a fraction of 350

the 2/20 gloves are basically plain. PR doesnt add any value and the mf is too low to add significant value. I'd be extatic if someone gave me 20 fg for those gloves

relative to what's on the market, those items are very mediocre once you go past the first few weeks of ladder
