Hi,
A couple of months ago I came back to D2 after many years, and I’m trying to get back up to speed. I’m having trouble pricing rare items, specifically rings and amulets. I’ve tried using the point system, even trained my own GPT with sources like Maxroll, JSP, etc., but still, the only thing I’ve managed to figure out is whether something is valuable or not. The problem is how to quantify the value of those items. ChatGPT, even after providing it with several reliable sources, still gets it wrong quite often and gives me a different appraisal each time for the same item.
To summarize, my question is this: knowing that a ring/amulet is valuable, how can I quantify that value in FGs?
I know it depends on several factors — whether the item meets certain requirements, whether it’s useful for more common builds (which would make it easier to sell), etc. But I still haven’t figured out how to interpret all that in terms of its FG equivalent.
This situation has caused a lot of idiots to message me trying to scam me. On the other hand, I’ve also been lucky enough to receive genuine PMs from people who warned me about the real value of my items and alerted me to the dishonest attempts from less honest users.
Here’s a good example of that: you can see how one user follows me from the trade post to the price check post trying to scam me. He fails thanks to the kindness and honesty of others and things end well →
