Sanchez had just let runners on 1st and 2nd. You have one of the best relievers in baseball ready to go, you gotta use him.

Walking Ohtani was the right move. Duran almost never walks batters unintentionally (1 walk all season) so nobody would have seen him walking Betts like that for a run. Not to mention to he matched up great vs Betts. Thompson made the right call but no call is guaranteed. The odds were with him, but he still lost.
