I think what happened here was when he put the bat down, he kind of used force and pushed the bat towards the ground! When he was swimming in the air, he was using his own strength! He was able to control the speed of the ball by just barely throwing it so he would be able to make it over and hit it with the bat in time! Also, the bat is heavier than the ball so it would make sense for the bat to hit the ground! I'd imagine it took some practice to get that whole trick down
but I guess when you're in space, you have a lot of time on your hands! :)

edits in the video clip (which means its fake?). i try to explain as best as i can. you have to focus on the scissors (not the scissors he is using) in the back ground upper right hand corner. they are floating there on a lanyard. important part is they float stationary. there are other things going on in video but for this i am just focusing on the scissors.
when the scissors jump/change position that is a edit. vid is heavily edited. what/how/why do you think its like this.
