How would you explain this defensive action when your friends are over and a predator appears nearby?

That's pretty cool! At first I thought the mother was actually eating her children! I was going to say, that's messed up at first but then I watched the rest of the video! :D

I didn't know that! I do that smaller fish would like swarm around like whales and stuff for protection against like sharks and things! I didn't know that about how they hold the kids in their mouth! :)

Yeah fish breeders have to keep the eggs safe (a lot of different critters do tbh) away from the mom because they'll just munch on babies
