A timeline of the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, known as Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, includes a massive rocket barrage followed by ground, sea, and air incursions by militants. The assault resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths, mostly civilians, and the abduction of around 250 hostages.
Morning invasion and rocket fire
The attack began around 6:30 a.m. IST with Hamas launching over 2,200 rockets from Gaza, triggering air raid sirens across southern and central Israel and overwhelming the Iron Dome defense system. Around the same time, Hamas military leader Muhammad Deif announced the start of "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood". The first militants arrived at Kibbutz Be'eri around 6:56 a.m., starting a massacre. Around 7:00 a.m., militants attacked the Supernova music festival, killing 364 people and taking hostages. Thousands of militants breached the Gaza-Israel barrier, entering various towns and kibbutzim, killing civilians and taking more hostages. The IDF confirmed the incursions by 7:40 a.m., advising residents to stay indoors. Rocket fire reached Jerusalem by 8:15 a.m.. Israel declared a "state of alert for war" and began activating reservists. By 8:34 a.m., Israel announced counteroffensive operations, and the Israeli Air Force started striking targets in Gaza by 10:47 a.m..
Later in the day and into the evening
At 11:35 a.m., Prime Minister Netanyahu declared Israel was at war. The U.S. condemned the attacks and supported Israel around 12:29 p.m.. IDF soldiers reached the Nova festival site by 2:17 p.m.. President Biden spoke with Netanyahu, offering support at 4:08 p.m., and later issued a public condemnation around 6:15 p.m.. Hundreds were reported missing by 6:00 p.m.. After 6:00 p.m., an Israeli security cabinet retroactively declared a state of war. The IDF reported killing militants in southern Israel by 7:11 p.m., and Israeli special forces began retaking control of occupied areas in Sderot by 7:57 p.m.. Israeli forces continued to engage with remaining militants throughout the evening
the music festival was attacked at 7 AM, and soldiers got there at 2:17 PM.
that's 7 hours. 3 hours after they declared the country was at war. they were literally bombing gaza 3 and a half hours BEFORE they got to the festival.
again, it takes 45 mins to get from the capital to the border via helicopter, and there are several bases far closer.
"why do we give israel money"....its for their intel, they know so much we dont. sure, sure, sure, sure, but..... they're either criminally incompetent or guilty of human sacrifice.
