scalpers are gonna kill the hobby, the normies wont be able to get cards for their kids and in 10 years they just wont be interested. making their own stock worthless in the long run.

its very frustrating indeed. i have 4 kids and all the content is on extra cards i open that they dont. i really hope something shifts soon.

id rather my collection be worthless and have access to cards then have an inflated collection that i have no intension to ever sell.

I used to manage a GameStop and tried to implement limits (the company did for like two days after launch of a line then stopped?) but the scalpers held a hard game, I had one even threaten to assault me because he spent $200 in boosters and didn't get anything worth money, I guess

I'm not a collector but there's a definite backwards market happening thanks to these scalpers.

i think some of it is born out of frustration economically. people looking for a quick buck while others are just looking to make some memories with their kids. it really is a sad state of things all around.

I tried to hold any freebies etc for the actual collectors and families I knew were regulars so they could at least get something special, the scalpers didn't need the limited edition GameStop cards or whatever those weren't anything way special other than a couple hundred sent to each GameStop but I had collectors who loved em

Editing to say if it was obviously a collector whether they were a regular or not I obviously gave them freebies too, you typically can tell the scalpers
