CBC casually interviews a third assault brigade “warrior” with swastikas tattooed all over - complaining about Russian agents. You cannot make this up.

I assume that the person you are addressing perceives the swastika differently, being from regions adjacent to India.

Lol CBC reuploaded the video blurring the “accidental” swastika.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Merkel's Russia policy (and really her entire legacy in just about any field) is in shambles. She's just trying to cover her ass and soothe her ego by some outlandish claims. Or perhaps she's truly delusional enough to believe that her leaving office in 2021 was the reason this war broke out in early 2022.

Either way, I'd be surprised if Putin was even aware of the diplomatic stance of Poland and the Baltics in 2021, let alone gave a single fuck about it.

What is your current take on where this war is going ? im all doom and gloom, i dont mind hearing an alternate view...

Get ready for WW3.
Just like Japan after WW2. They produced some sick and gorgeous Anime.

I will get more Chopin, Rachmaninov, Scriabin after WW3.
And a new batch of Tupac style Rap from USA.
The Chinese will probably follow the Japanese in producing Anime but maybe not Anime, maybe some super cool Kung Fu movies and Manga.

I honestly can't tell. The pace of the Russian advances on the ground was accelerating earlier in the year, but has slowed down noticeably over the past 2-3 months. Ukraine has ramped up its use of drones and cruise missiles and began inflicting more painful damage on targets on Russia, but Russia was able to answer with a devastating attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure last week.

I guess a ton will depend on where Trump goes. He tried to make progress by striking a conciliatory tone toward Russia and Putin, but these efforts (imho predictably) went nowhere. There are signs that Trump is increasingly losing patience with Russia/Putin, but he has no love lost for Ukraine and his political instincts are strongly isolationist. Also, he would have a hard time selling a ramped up American involvement to his base.

Between Trump going "fuck it, we're out" and Trump greenlighting massive American troops for Ukraine, I wouldn't rule out anything. The crux imho is if he can find a way to increase the pressure on Russia without violating his principles or alienating his base. Which is a much tougher nut to crack than Gaza was. In Gaza, the IDF did all the heavy lifting on the ground and all Trump had to do was giving them the green light to wipe out Gaza City if Hamas doesn't budge. By contrast, achieving a similar result in Ukraine would require far more direct involvement by the US military, far more risk-taking and financial commitment.

Another factor that I can't really assess with any kind of precision is the state of the Russian economy. They could run out of steam within a year, or they could be able to keep up the current level of warfare for another 5+ years.

OK i basically agree with all of that. any thought on the long range missiles into Russia, or all these border shenanigans that have been going on?
