its funny how leftists are called authoritarian socialists, but then get criticized as not having policy. do you have any idea how much policy it takes to convert to an authoritarian socialist regime? i wish the leftists had a LOT less policy desires, and you should too.

I think his point was that democratic voters don't care about policy, not that their candidates don't want to enact policies.

I actually agree with the basis of the thread. The overwhelming majority of democrats are just anti-republicans.

The overwhelming majority of republicans are just anti-democrats too tho.

None of you know or care about anything, you've just been convinced that you're at war with pure evil. It was easy, it's always been easy. It's the extent of your philosophical depth. Throw a rock and it lands on the bottom of a shallow pond, this is how both parties view their own voters.

Yeah, and every other major democratic state for at least the past 2500 years. It's not a problem with an individual population, it's a problem inherent in the system.

Yeah thanks for clarifying. I’m curious what everyday democrats and leftists prioritize when they vote, outside of hating Trump. People could also name existing democrat policies that they like, that fly under the radar because all of the focus is always on the orange man.

For instance, I want modern machine guns legalized. I don’t think that’s popular among either side.

What’s a better system? I don’t think we’re completely free in the USA but we’re definitely more free than most if not all of the rest of the world. What are better alternatives to the system that won’t result in oppression by the government?

There is no better system for lasting freedom. Dictatorship under a just and wise ruler is the best obviously, but just and wise men die like everyone else and then you get Caligula and Nero so this can't function sustainably, you're just rolling the dice every time you get a new guy no matter how he is chosen.

My policy desire is to recognize that the left/right divide is illusory and distracts from the real issue of class, and that such illusion is manufactured, intentional, and exists to the benefit of those in power.
