hey guys,

im wondering what the best sorc orb would be, damage wise?

for example,

for blizz sorc, would it be a 3/3/3/20 fcr/2 soc magic orb or death fathom?

for fire/light sorc, would it be a 3/3/3/20 fcr/2soc magic orb or eschutas?

or would a rare orb with 2 sorc/3/3/20fcr/life/mana/res/2 soc orb be the best overall?

ive been told that the magic orbs with 3/3/3/20 fcr/2 soc are the absolute best and these are worth alot of fg? like anywhere from 80k to 120k?
i believe these magic orbs can spawn with life and other skills to complement its element like thunder storm, energy shield, etc etc as well

can i get your guys opinion?

If you can afford a jmod then yeah, pretty much.

If fathom or a magic 3/20/3/3/2 orb is better is all about how much resist your opponent has. If your opponent has enoguh stack to counter th extra - res you have from the magic orb, then the magic orb is significantly worse than fathom. If you are able to take advantage of the magic orbs extra - res, then depending on the res amount, it can be better.

If your opponent has very little cold res, then fathom is always better.

I would only purchase a cold magic orb if cold sorc is one of your most played chars.


For vita fber, you genenraly are going 200 FCR, which makes 20fcr orbs useless
For ES fber, hoto is extremely hard to beat and is more dependent on if the magic or rare orb rolls high mana as to if it’s better than hoto.

Lightning sorcs are largely irrelevant in PvP

yes i do play blizz/ice blast sorc alot, thus would you say that these 3/20/3/3/2 orb are valued very high? assuming of course with what you mentioned about taking advantage of the magics orb's extra -res.

The times you can actually take advantage of the bonus from The magic orb are minimal.

It’s up to you if you want to invest the ~100k for those niche scenarios


You also need to know exactly how much resist your opponent has to say which of the two is better. Which you will never know unless they tell you exactly how much total cold res they have
