I can't imagine in what universe Russia would directly and overtly attack Poland. It would be one of history's greatest and most suicidal blunders.

Not hard to imagine. Ukrainian troops already bounce across the polish border for training and ship in equipment. They aren't at the point of the Pakistani Taliban, doing cross border raids and retreating, but is it imaginable some day?
