The guy might not have been a registered Democrat, but he fit the sociodemographic profile to a tee (in a relationship with a guy who was transitioning, furry fetish), engraved antifa slogans on his casings ("hey, fascist, catch this" and "bella ciao") and embraced the core argument by leftist agitators that the contemporary right-wing movement consists of nazis/dangerous fascists which have to be stopped by direct action ("I [shot Kirk] because some hate just can't be negotiated with").
