I like most all of anything ranging from Hardcore to technical death.

When someone say's hardcore I think of more punk influenced, like Kublai Khan, MouthBreather, Alpha Wolf, Gaijin (Swamped) above a few links.

Fair enough! I think I listen to more “metalcore” than anything else although I’m still learning all the differences amongst the genres

My favorite bands are

The amity affliction
Bring me the horizon
We came as Romans
The plot in you
I, prevail

Whatever those are

A day to remember is pretty sick too

Amity affliction - post hardcore dabbling in metalcore (Saw them live in July in Denver) They are my IRL friends fav band.
Old BMTH - "Count your blessing" is deathcore to the T anything after that is probably metalcore going into post harcore
We came as Romans - post/metalcore.
Plot - post/metalcore
I prevail post/metalcore

It's still metal just metal light. :)
Nothing wrong with post hardcore/metalcore.

I'd say almost every band you mentioned was a gateway into what I like now, I still jam to old metalcore all the time.
My IRL friends don't venture outside of that genre very often besides when I get in the spotify group party.
I've started getting them to listen to technical metal a bit more to enjoy the precision and talent they have but it's a steep listening curve.
Lorna Shore seemed to have opened the normie gate into deathcore recently too.
