OK, lets look at the current "deal" - Hamas is inclined to accept a Gaza peace plan laid out by Donald Trump but only under certain conditions, officials close to Israel-Hamas negotiations in Qatar told Haaretz. The group is currently consulting with other Palestinian factions to come to a unified position on the plan. Hamas is expected to clarify that it is willing to accept the outline in the form that was presented to Arab leaders last week, before prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu made changes to it, the outlet added.
From this we have to accept that the deal is dead. Benjamin Netanyahu once again changed the goal posts to ensure no deal.
i agree in the current phase, what id refer to as micro, that israel is to blame for a lack of a deal. not surprising, they're winning the "war" without almost any resistance. you don't offer "good" deals to people you're defeating handily. unless you want lasting peace (see WW1 to WW2 disaster of a treaty that was never meant for peace, but for punishment).
im simply stating, and its just my opinion, that Israel could offer full statehood to gaza, with zero supervision, and even offer aid. and in 5-10 years we'd be right back where we are but with the State of Palestine vs Israel. since Arafat declined statehood its been clear that there will never be lasting peace. israel either understands and accepts this OR also doesnt want peace. i tend to believe they are just comfortable fighting everyone around them at this point and accept it, but also the current govt needs war to retain power. so its a bit of both imo.
deal or no deal its not a peace deal, its a temporary ceasefire. gazans will attack again, even if given a state, and they wont get a state most likely in any case. its a ball of yarn mess.
