I actually agree that they should pay the same tax rate as anyone else in the top tax bracket. No special treatment for people. I’m still against socialism and I don’t feel entitled to anyone else’s money - this is just a fairness issue for me. If you’re in the top tax bracket, you pay the top tax bracket - very black and white.

So for example:

For single filers: The 37% rate applies to taxable income over $626,350.

This is how much Bezos and Elon should be taxed on their income. The same as any other American human making over $626k

When you are a business you file business tax returns. There are 1000000000000000000000000000000s of things you can claim as a loss, depreciation, cost, etc. None of that gets taxed, ya know.

If you REALLY want them to feel the hurt, you'd have to change how the IRS reviews taxes, and that'd screw over the small people, too.

I just meant on income like when they pay themselves. I honestly have no idea how corporate taxes work but they should pay just like any other company or business pays also.

a business that big is a C corp, which don't even show up on personal returns. Peopel are probably paid salary via compensation of officers line on business tax returns in accordance to contracts/ownship shares

if we had a tax rate same as in the 1950's they would have to invest more into America or get taxed 90% of their liquidations .. while stealing all the wealth out of America... taking it to Canada or who knows where..they ge taxed almost nothing if they do it right..

The US system has institutionalized peonage, which somehow is not a 13th amendment violation. The prime example being unforgivable forever debt, such as student loan debt. Meanwhile institutions forgiven, bankrupt, or bailed out. Or trackers in lease vehicles violating privacy. (Good for repo man)
