They have a variety of styles but I think the ones with a solid end and a brush end seem to work the best for a variety of applications on a painting.

I usually use them to finish/fine detail anything I've painted

They can be fairly reasonable for cheaper ones
People use them for the painted rocks people leave around places for joy

Oh, I used to see a lot of those painted rocks in Arizona! Arizonans are big on that out in the open desert!

We find one every other month or so around here, used to be really popular
