I'd love if they just taxed everyone a little to cover emergency healthcare and medications for every legal US citizen.
But UnitedHealthCare already embezzle billions of money the government gives them to manage Medicare and Medicaid
Couldn't trust them with more money for shit
UHC had a net profit margin of 3.74% in 2024, with $400 billion in revenue, $311b in benefits, $57b in operating expenses, $12b in non-operating expenses, $5b in taxes for $15b post-tax income.
Of that $400b income, $309b came from premiums, $50b from products, $36b from services, $5b investment. And of those $309b in premiums, well you'll have a hard time quantifying what % comes from taxpayer subsidized medicaid/medicare since its at state and federal level.

For contrast, Pfizer in 2024 had a profit margin of 16.84%, with their $64b income being spent on $30.9 operating expenses, only $10b of which is on their primary benefit in R&D, the rest in non operating/other expenses, and also they are taxed at a negative rate, receiving $1.1 billion from the feds.
