Electronic Arts, maker of video games like “Madden NFL,” “Battlefield,” and “The Sims,” is being acquired for $52.5 billion in what could become the largest-ever buyout funded by private-equity firms.

The private equity firm Silver Lake Partners, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund PIF, and Affinity Partners will pay EA’s stockholders $210 per share. The companies value the deal at about $55 billion, including debt. Affinity Partners is run by President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

I cashed out of EA games a long time ago but this is some real bullshit.

Haven't played an EA game since BF One.

But BF6 looks like its going back to its roots so will probably purchase it.

$133.49 CAD. Not cheap these days. Edit: That appears to be Phantom Edition but I don't see regular listed on PS5.

Played the Open Beta and BF6 definitely better than last release, but still not as good as BF1 or BF4 or BFV. They mandated secure boot, yet servers still had abundant cheaters lol.

Fresh direction is what EA needs. Not sure about Kushner though leading game dev corp

those games suck

what i want to know is the details of the contract between the nfl, nba. mlb, etc with EA. Like why do they force a new game on us every year for full price and expect us to buy VC everytime you want a new build. is this the fault of the leagues or EA? just give me a game thats up-to date for a few years at minimum cmon.
