Bitcoin is so stupid. It’s worthless in the grand scheme of things. At least gold is actually used in electronics and has some real world value.

And yeah, I have traded bitcoin and made money, that doesn’t change the fact that I think it’s stupid lol.

Are you saying an immutable decentralized transaction ledger is worse than say a hand full of private banks running transaction through old IBM/swiss bank backed systems.

Block chain is mathematics.

To add, most of the gov conspiracy on this topic was with Central vlBank Digital Currency, not a We the People model because better to control the financial wacking stick

Well said

Don't get me wrong i never said gold was trash, it will serve a purpose and you can see gold is also in the rise. But Bitcoin is part of the future its obvious if your paying attention, All the worlds governments will have sovereign wealth funds holding bitcoin as a safety net and for wealth accumilation, also they are now creating crypto debit/credit cards, and i believe Twitter is going to expand to online banking which includes crypto.

that might be your take but i believe its wrong, the entire world, goverments, corporations and citizens will be holding it. The entire global financial system is being replaced, all the evidence is there to show this.

I have the same view about paper money too. Its only value is that people will accept it in trade, much like bitcoin. Their entire worth is based on the world staying stable, online, and people being willing to accept it in trade.

If the world is ever going to shit and regressing, I’d much rather have gold is all I’m saying since it has real world value that doesn’t depend on other factors.

sure but over time paper money loses its value while at same time prices rise, its not sustainable, the opposite will occur with bitcoin.
also because there is a public ledger associated with it, corrupt government agencies will no longer be able to launder money to ngo's and people will have a hard time moving money around through shell corporations. But like anything in life, it all depends if something is un by honest brokers or criminals, most things can be used for good or evil.

Its run by a computer. It doesnt matter what math or systems and protections are behind it. What happens when its hacked? Hijacked? All stolen? Locked down by ransomware? Gummed up by worms? Battered by email viruses to its users? And on, and on, and on...

Also, bitcoins are finite. And the price is always fluctuating, what happens when the price tanks? Does the current maximum price range of bitcoin even come close to the every day needs of americans? How about the needs of the government? The military? You do know other countries use bitcoins as well correct?

You have the right to think that. I don’t really have that much faith in people being consistent. Tides change drastically every 50-100 years. I’d say it’s 50/50 whether bitcoin thrives or dies.

Bitcoin is secured by bitcoin miners, the more that mine it around the world the more secure it is. The amount of power right now needed to 'hack' the bitcoin network is impossible and will only become more impossible over time.

"you need 51% of all the Hash Rate currently hashing BTC to do a 51% attack. The attacker has to keep 51% hashrate from that point on to avoid being forked."

Want an example of how bitcoin dies?

Government makes a digital currency, then they all blast though their partizan news channels and tell everyone how amazing it is. Bitcoin would probably lose a ot of its mainstream momentum. Once a democrat is back in office - ABC, CNN, MSNBC, etc will all run whatever stories they are told to run.

Bitcoin has its overall mainstream success tied to government acceptance. You think Russia and China can’t just shut down bitcoin completely in their own countries if they want to?
