I thought funny games(2007) was comedy gold lol but really it was just a thriller
But it's packaged as a horror/crime movie
So do what you want with that information
Unfortunately there arent many scary movies. Because the surprise part is taken out when you know its going to be a scary movie.
Instead what scary movies should do is say on the cover that its any other genre like, comedy, scifi, family, drama etc. Never reveal its a scary movie.
That way when the kids are watching some kind of Bambi cartoon and the deer gets shot by the hunter who skins the deer and shows good technique on filleting the meat and makes sausages from it. The movie ends with a happy family meal where they all celebrate by eating the sausages.
That would be both educational and entertaining at the same time.
