The government has no scientific authority, nor should they. Scientists don’t have that authority either.

The scientific method fundamentally rejects authority because facts change over time. This is made easier when people are allowed to question the currently established facts. Our facts will not stand the test of time, all of recorded history is proof of this. Letting your leaders hammer current facts into stone is lunacy.

How do you suggest we approach a subsequent public health issues. Ignore medical science? That's what we currently have with the drive to remove flouride from drinking water.

If by “a subsequent public health issue” you mean something similar to covid I think the answer is clear. If you’re sick don’t go to work. Don’t visit your grandmom.

Don’t fucking shut down the world because a guy in a lab coat is scared. Guy doesn’t know a fucking thing about the economy—how many people are going to starve because he was worried about his pops, how many people won’t seek life saving medical attention for cancer, heart attacks and strokes, how many abused children will be stuck with their abusers and completely cut off from teachers, babysitters and friends’ parents, which are the people who report child abuse.

Covid lockdowns were a far bigger public health issue than covid. I suggest we don’t listen to the people who forced that to happen ever again.

Actually the Biden administration did ignore science. They claimed “follow the science” but they didn’t.

During the time they were forcing two shots into everyone - there were already peer reviewed studies showing that if someone already had COVID, the first shot gave them a huge immune response, and the 2nd shot did nothing and just put them at more risk for complications with no benefit.

You can actually look up the papers and check the dates, and go back and check CDC guidance, this is actual fact.

Follow the science? Go ahead, I’ll be awaiting your excuse and cope for the Biden regime.

I’ll just add that this is one of the main factors that drove me to vote republican. I was threatened into taking a loosely tested vaccine, and on top of that since I had already had Covid, I was overdosed on it as well. Yeah no thanks, definitely not signing up for more of that.

Look i dont have a medical degree, and neither do you. At some point you gotta roll the dice with trusting the consensus within the medical community or playing armchair medical expert and doing your own research.

I lived through that time period too and I also did my research. 3% chance of dying from covid vs several orders of magnitude less likely chance of complications from vaccines that were being developed. Those were the facts that I worked with when I chose to get the shots.

I was on the flip side of your scenario where I had to tell people get vaccinated or lose your job. Wasn't my call but if idiots would just stay at home for two weeks when they got sick we wouldn't have had to go that far to deal with assholes who think its OK to go around infecting as many people as they can.
