NATO orbits the USA, without USA, there is not a NATO. USA is the gravity there. This means the NATO nations need abandon, but they dependant on USA enforcing the articles and maintaining the calm international routes for trade. I doubt NATO would be so naive to sacrifice this huge value for a temporary trade renegotiation.

"There is no doubt that the absence of [former leader] Hassan Nasrallah has left its mark. There is a deep relationship that has developed between the resistance in Palestine, especially Hamas, and the resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah."

OK, so with that out of the way, my view is:

It was not Oct 7th which was the cause which led to multiple countries recognizing Palestine. In the time after Oct 7th Elon Musk said it very plainly - He intimated that the goal of Hamas was to provoke an overreaction from Israel. They succeeded. They levered this overreaction to achieve recognition for the state of Palestine. Oct 7th was not what led to this recognition - Israel's overreaction was what led to this recognition. Hamas made it clear that France and UK are fools and there will be no two state solution only a Palestinian/Hamas solution.

The State of Palestine “exists” in the sense of widespread international recognition and within the UN system as an observer state. But it lacks full UN membership and does not yet enjoy complete sovereignty over its claimed territory. Palestine is like the planet Pluto - many people still call it one, some authorities don’t, but it’s definitely “there.”

in the meantime more and more drone strikes on the flotilla heading towards Israel. More pesky european navies looking at this, Spain in particular. ETA Friday-Monday? not sure.
