The death of Charlie Kirk wouldn't make nearly the same waves if he had died in a pub fight or a traffic accident and the other guy happened to be a Democrat, because the event leading to his death would have been nonpolitical, just like the death of Horst Wessel mostly was.



But that's not what happened. Kirk dedicated his life to the modern conservative movement, of which he was one of the main architects - and he was assassinated in cold blood precisely because of this role. Tyler Robinson, a crazed leftist radicalized by inflammatory rhetoric about how every member of the "MAGA right" is a dangerous fascist gunning to put people like his ""girl""friend into concentration camps, made a calculated decision to take out one of the most effective leaders and spokespersons of contemporary conservatism. This event crossed a major red line and absolutely does call for political and legal consequences.

You, however, have learned nothing and go straight back to the very same rhetoric about how Trump and MAGA supporters are the 2nd coming of the nazis and chomping at the bit to abolish democracy and constitutional rights. Even when you try to deflect and stall the well-justified calls for consequences from this tragedy, you just can't help yourself and pull the material for your shameful gaslighting attempt from the same, poisoned well.

Nothing about Charlie kirk is conservatism. His comments on blacks were hateful racism at best. His comments on women were misogynistic to put it lightly. He thought kids who are raped should carry the babies and children should see executions.
He's a white nationalist at core. Far right regressive ideals are not conservative. History won't miss him. History rarely misses evil people like Charlie kirk. But this section is full of white supremacists so I guess I'm in the minority huh?

MPR news this morning only had one guest to discuss the TPUSA event at Northrup that was supposed to feature Kirk, who wasn't available for interview. So they brought on a queer trans middle eastern U of M professor of DEI, Gender Studies and queer feminist theory to say a single line claiming Charlie Kirk had "put they/them in danger" by "putting their name on a website identifying teachers who discriminate against conservative students". MPR was pressed for time so I guess they didn't bring up the part where 'they/them' literally put a denial of the october 7th attack occurring in their job application at the U;

and heck as long as I'm digging into that particular history, he had also tried to set up a student group zoom call with a Palestinian hijacker and terrorist only for Zoom itself to shut down the event saying it would be illegal to provide service to members of a foreign terrorist organization


of course I came on PARD and joked it was safer inside the Northrup auditorium with the potential of a politically motivated assassin than outside the auditorium where 5 minutes after I posted it, someone indeed shot up dinkytown with automatic weapons
