Judging by the amount of other media outlets/channels that are communicating this situation I'd say the word is effectively getting around, as long as people state the proper reasoning for everything that took place. (Accurate media)

It's almost as if you're implying that just because Jimmy is a smaller portion of this bigger picture it should just get overlooked? I disagree.

An individual has 2 choices to rob a bank or rob a piece of gum I feel the proper education/consequence should take place with that individual. It's all about working towards the better outcome, regardless of how small you think it is.

Kid steals something small and continues to get away with it they will further see how much they can get away with. A person uses a media outlet to post fake news and misleads a smaller community, as others and bigger communities get involved were are still heading in the wrong direction.

The state of our overall media has aggressively gotten worse throughout the years with no care to improve it and we have traction towards ensuring we have proper coverage.

Tldr, Jimmy made a mistake and received a proper consequence with a real purpose behind it.

So your metric is skewed by political bias. Got it. You probably shouldn't be debating here.
You think the current admin is fixing the media by using the FCC to pressure them into "correctness"
There is no correctness here. Only authoritarianism on full display.

This whole thing is over a late night segment branded as entertainment which made some colorful comments.
This isnt news. Its an entertainment piece.

Then the admin gets involved by using the FCC to pressure the network because trump didnt like his hateful comments.

Heres the whole thing? His thoughts on the subject were like 30 seconds. Nothing really bad here. He doesn't even bad mouth him.

BUT WAIT ... I see what pissed them off.
"Robinson was one of their guys"
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/k4pz-hcwHB8
Now the current admin is doing everything in their power to paint robinson as a far left sympathizer.

Rest of the segment is just jabs at the admin.
Then he start going off and taking jabs at Trump which Trump himself called him "Terrible and untalented"

By the way the network is currently trying to retool his show with him right now due to the consumer backlash
It may just make a comeback.
What would be your thoughts be if the FCC doubles down after that I wonder.. Again remember its not news. Its entertainment.

You don't get the point I'm trying to make.

Nothing Jimmy Kimmel said regarding the point of the topic was intended as joke/ entertainment purposes. He tried to use a platform that doesn't belong to him to spread misinformation and got punished for it.

It's why I used the example of regardless of how small or how big we should still take the approach of correcting misinformation and developing this in the direction of needs to do for the public eye.

Given the state of just how bad the current state of media is I don't mind seeing some firm action take place to correct it. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.

The FCC being used to silence critics is a bad look.
Its entertainment. Not news. People can say whatever they want. Someone doesn't like it they can sue.
Like Alex Jones getting the pants sued off him and now hes broke.

As they say "Talk Shit Get Hit"
Except the government is throwing the hits and no one is going to stop them because their leader thinks hes king.

Do you feel entertainment has an influence on people?

You keep saying that word trying to consider it different than news, so I'm curious.

You asked a dumb question.
I gave you a dumb response.
Phrase the question in a way that actually merits a response.

No, you avoided the question because you realize the point I'm making actually makes sense.

I'll let you dwell in your avoidance of the bigger picture here.

Have a good day sir.

He did not spread any misinformation, he made a factual statement.
