Yes, I think that's the worst of what he did, spread misinformation about a left-wing shooter radicalized on marginal left-wing spaces online. We know that to be a fact, it's not in dispute, and his writers should have known better.

Still wouldn't have cancelled him over it, though. The show must have been bleeding money.

It's not a winning argument when you realize that most people hold views similar to Charlie Kirk, he's squarely within their overton window. If you're willing to write off a 31-year old father of two getting murdered, you'd certainly be willing to write off me. That begins to sound like a threat.

So I think it sums up as;

• Jimmy Kimmel's show was easily the worst of the late-night options to begin with
  
• His comments about Kirk, while a bit inflammatory weren't egregious enough to merit canceling
  
• He has said PLENTY on his shows that should have gotten him canceled long ago, one of the most despicable pundits (and that's a high bar)
  
• ABC had an obvious financial motivation because his show was tanking but still absurdly overpriced and they needed an excuse
  
• ABC had an obvious political motivation to curry favor with Trump and get back in his good books
  
• Kirk himself was explicitly against this kind of deplatforming

I mean, i'd appreciate if they'd actually fire the disinformation studies professor who spread that bit of disinformation, because its like a pyromaniac fire marshal
