You can start with basic back pack and slowly add more weights. If you are serious get a goruck back pack with plates. Its designed to be abused pays for itself over the years.
Alternatively getting a weighted vest with adjustable weights that you can increase over time. Depending on your fitness level and how long you going to ruck for starting at 10% body weight and slowly increasing to about 30% - 40%

I am ex military I ruck a lot. What your reason for wanting to ruck?

But yeah rucking made me much stronger overall in life, everywhere I travel I use a ruck sack.

If you live a sedentary life like I do you'll definitely notice the soreness. Gonna keep at 5% body weight twice a week for a month before I bump it up to 10%.

My walks are 6-8km with a good mix of uphill and downhill and form seems to be doubly important once you've got weights on.
