Yes Rice had a lower ADOT and you can call them schemed up short targets if that sits better with you, Worthy is also a deep threat and that will bring up his ADOT. But you've hit the important point - they both got most of their yards as YAC, which was driven largely by scheme. You're making the fairly drastic assumption that Rice will resume the exact same role he had before Worthy broke out. Sure it's possible, but it's also possible Worthy eats into some of Rices schemed looks and target share (seems a lot more likely to me that this number > 0%).
What does the offense look like with both of them healthy and active this year? It's uncertain.
Your certainty almost guarantees you'll be wrong. It's definitely in the range of outcomes that Worthy outperforms Rice when they're both active. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, I'm saying it could (and the chances are reasonable enough to be worthy of consideration)
1. I am not making *any* drastic assumptions, anyone who knows this team or reports on this team knows that Rice will go right back to his previous role.
2. Again, worthy did not "break out", he merely slotted into the position vacated by both Rice and Brown's injuries last year.
3. It is indeed possible that Worthy, if healthy, eats into *some* of Rice's touches, but he will not come close on touches or targets, which is the point of this post.
Lastly, "outperform" is subjective. If you mean out-target and out-touch Rice, then no, there is no possibility of that being the case when they are both healthy and on the field. The Offense runs through Rice, as it did before his injury.
