Yes absolutely shame them. Its not some unforgivable sin, but its still a harmful and careless act and an apology and retraction doesn't wipe it away. Someone should have it as a minor black mark against them and have a little reputational harm of their own, a little less credibility. He done bad, now get back to writing. Its far worse for journalists who should know better, and spent the past 10 years spraying dung out of a hose, and should lose their jobs for it. But generally, the parable goes like this;
