The problem is the mentality that he “deserved it” in some way.

But those same people would have an issue if someone said that they deserved the same for sharing their opinion.

Are you outraged at the JSP responses in this thread? Why don't you post here? This arguably even worse because a sitting member of Congress was murdered inside her own private home by a man impersonating a police officer.

You're being a hypocrite. Are you aware of the things Charlie Kirk has said?

The difference between discussing and advocating for a murder is that the latter goes against the morals of most people. They are both legal, just like people can post they are happy that a CEO died or that they wish Trump dies.

There is a huge difference between advocating for a murder and actually planning a murder with the intention of a person dying.

You can't be this dense. If someone constantly spams advocating for murder of someone, a mentally unstable person will pick that up and act on it. Holy shit.

If the president tells a large group of people to march on the capitol and it results in the death of several people including a police officer, is he responsible?

Yes it is terrible to advocate for murder. There is a world of difference between saying vile things online and actually committing murder in real life

If a news caster said the weather is great and a perfect time for a beach trip and a tsunami kills them all, should the news anchor be held responsible?

Yeah I followed that and at the time I had the same opinion that I do about this. If you don’t like them, vote them out. They’re entitled to do their job and have their opinion just like anyone else and didn’t deserve what happened to them.

You have a problem with trying to compare things and justify things. We don’t need to have a dick measuring contest with all of these tragedies. My opinion about them doesn’t change based on political leanings. In both cases, the perp is a piece of shit who deserves capital punishment.

Yes, but where was this? All I read back then was him telling his fanbase to stand down.

My point is that advocating for murder with words online is TERRIBLE behavior

However, it is much more terrible to murder in real life. It's insane to suggest that they are remotely similar in severity

I don't believe Trump is responsible for every Jan 6 death. His words were irresponsible yes, but it is extremely different than if he actually took a gun and shot someone

I never equated advocating murder online to actually doing it. I said that advocating for murder online leads to actual murders because of that. That's why doing so gets you banned on most sites, except reddit apparently depending on what side you're on.

The problem is the mentality and hypocrisy.

Advocating for murder because you don’t like someone’s opinion…

Then it’s cool if the same happens to them for their opinion?

I’m just looking for consistency.
