Charlie Kirk will he sorely missed. His claim to fame (imo) is debating young minds who have been misled. He'll be remembered as a token figure of free speech. He attempted to extend his hand across the aisle when few others would. Bravery that most of his haters couldn't appreciate. He paid with his life, which is sometimes the cost for having steadfast beliefs and a desire to educate those whose beliefs are fragile and ungrounded, but none the less bolstered by a propaganda machine too bright to ignore in our digital age.

I fear for the reprocussions after today's tragedy. Please remember Charlie as someone who attempted to affect positive change in our society in a non-violent way.

Words are not violence, sticks and stones folks.

The main repercussions will be primary. The right will use this as ammo to say “It’s only liberal nutjobs causing chaos in the US” and the left will say “This is why we need gun control.”.

We go through this shit yearly around this time before elections. I don’t know why people haven’t caught on to it yet.

That is true. However the US as a LEGITIMATE country was created by war. The entire reason the US exists is because settlers rebelled against their mother countries.

There's no doubt though that stricter gun control could've saved Kirk's life. Whether or not you think that is worth the attempt is another story. Personally, I believe people should have the right to defend themselves from a tyrannical government. But at the same time our forefathers didn't quite grasp what guns would advance to with today's technology.
