You're worried about his airflow but you're going to suggest putting it on the floor. FRONT=INTAKE, TOP=EXHAUST, REAR=EXHAUST. Putting it on the floor is not good for your PC. Massive dust accumulation = bad airflow.

Front is solid glass. there is almost no room in the back as it's nearly pressed against the wall. both sides are completely covered. He has maybe a little bit on the back and the top. that's it.

I honestly don't see how putting it on the floor is any different than setting it on any surface. Yes dust settles, but dust is also everywhere. Having it a little bit lower isn't going to make it so much more dusty. I know it's not the best but given his situation, that's would I would do instead of having it shoved in that little of a space that's so enclosed.
