You're making my point for me, thanks.
This is not a fight between your right to exist against theirs. It's a one sided conflict and israel has occupied and controlled the other side for more than 50 years. They don't like you. Well dropping 2000 pound bombs on tents in Israeli designated safe zones. Murdering journalists and aid workers and trying to cover it up by burrying the evidence. Tripple tapping hospitals to kills as many aid workers as possible. Creating a man made famine. Targeting children with snipers. Targeting civilians with snipers.
It's not your children vs theirs. I can see how they can see it from that point of view, but an israeli super power with nukes, the most advanced military in the world with the most powerful army in the world behind them. Noone is doubting the survival of israel. Stop playing victim and start making peace.
This is exactly what it is. That’s the whole point.
I wrote before that I’ll address what you wrote about your vision of radical free peace in the region -
A. You blame the current Israel GOV. I didn’t vote for them and dislike them as well but they are not the core problem. The conflict is here for over 70 years..
B. Core problem was and always will be the Palestinian refusal to acknowledge defeat and to acknowledge the Jewish state. We know that because they are very persistent with their demands , in short -
- a Palestinian state
- right of return to the refugees
I hope that it’s well establish that this “right of return” BS means the end of Israel as it is, right ?
Because of the above, the conflict will never end. That’s my claim and that’s what I’m trying to pass through 15XX pages here.
Of course we are not justifying killing of children.. no one wants to see dead children.
We Israelis, unlike the western world apparently, we acknowledge that the current collective which leads the Palestinians IS the problem and hence needs to be gone. Either by force or by some sort of internal ideology change inside Palestinian society.
Until then the plan will be to survive here and fight when needed, given the above I don’t see any action Israel can do to achieve peace.
Regarding the settlements in the West Bank - myself, and I think many_names also (not sure though) not supporting this actions.
Is Israel wrong here ? IMO yes.
Does it changes the outcome for peace ? Absolutely not.
Does the West Bank and Gaza can be like a state and have a complete freedom ? Absolutely not. If we do that we’ll have Iran on our fences. Oct 7 will look like a joke.
Hope that summarise my POV.
