Mine are both males and un neutered so they can be boisterous. But after a year of training they fall in line. If you don't have a dominant personality then yes they will test you which is why most people can't handle dogs. Bitches can be too clingy imo but I might consider getting one.
I lived with a girl who had a rotty/german shep cross, male but was fixed, he always knew I was the boss but he was a dick to everyone else lol
My female dog is very clingy, but I love that. Shes always wanting to snuggle or play. Its what I enjoy about having a dog lol, but it also means she wants to make friends with everyone who comes in my house. No concerns about her being a cunt to guests.
