Yes Sacks are important (especially for box score warriors), but there can be a lot that goes into play with Sacks/TFL.

An Edge player creates a pressure and forces the QB to step up into the pocket right into the DT sack. The DT gets the credit for the Sack, but if the Edge player doesn't force him to step up with the pressure it never happens. etc etc.
