on the subject of covid, i lived with multiple vulnerable people and got the first few vaccines, when i was originally explained what the vaccine did, it was described to me by a doctor as "similar to the yearly flu shot" this was in one of the most red counties in arizona btw. i feel like the people who pretend that there was this widespread intentional deceit don't ever talk to any medical professionals and get all of their news from popular media sources lol.

the diseases that we have largely prevented, back in the day when there wasn't this widespread anti vax nonsense, people were lining up to get their doses(and this was before there was "widespread documented knowledge" on the vaccines at the time) and the lines were so long some people had to come back the follow days, weeks even. the trust that there would be something to prevent the painful death of polio was considered a modern miracle.

funny how we now have people who are poorly misinformed, or willfully even, making all these incendiary arguments against modern vaccines that did nothing but good for the world

the modern age of social media is nothing but a poison to otherwise rationally sound individuals who become so lost in the woods from misinformation that they lose track of critical thinking, and i think that is truly sad

Your bold is blatantly untrue. My job in the private sector at that time straight up told me you have like a month to get the vaccine or face termination. I actually got another job at a different private company during COVID after that first one and an explicit pre-condition for employment was showing proof of vaccination. I mean you could be obtuse and say well you didn't have to work you could of easily just gone and collected cans to buy bread but that's not how 99% of people would respond when faced with such a choice. Of course vast majority will take the shot just like i did, just like millions did. Which again would of been fine if the COVID shot had a very high efficacy but it didn't, so then you have millions of people afterwards asking themselves why the fuck was i forced to take this under threat?

You are confusing private mandates with government mandates

Private institutions can mandate that you take a vaccine. They can also mandate that you don't use weed even if it's legal, etc. they can mandate that you don't say certain things (first amendment doesn't apply to private companies)

The government did not mandate that civilians get the vaccine. Some private companies mandated it but not all

Some people will argue about a single vaccine forever, and some wont.

its pretty wild how the health industry in the US is For Profit and vaccines in some states are mandatory. It kinda throws on its head the notion of Land of the Free. It looks like a slippery slope to me.

The purpose of requiring vaccines isn’t to be some money making ploy.

By this logic the Fourteenth Amendment doesn't apply to them also, right?

giving Hep B vaccines to newborns just bc the mom could potentially be a ho and got std’s during pregnancy to ALL babies is wild. Then 15-25% of the time Hep B titers 5-10 years later come back as negative with no antibodies, so your kid could still get hep B

MMR (measles is one of them) is also one that comes back highly negative on titers ~ 60% of people don’t sustain antibodies . For a disease with <10% death rate IF they got it

So babies get vaccine side effects, whatever they may be (SIDs, autism are questionable ) for a chance at them not even working by the time they are school age.

I’d pry vaccinated my kids and I personally got MMR and hep B boosters since it was required in anesthesia school (def feel sick ever since with heart issues) but just throwing that out there

It pissed a lot of you off when I say this but to be honest I wouldn't have taken the vaccine anyway. I'm in perfect health and everyone of my family and friends is in good/great health. My own family members who struggled with Covid were obese.

I legit smoked weed with my whole hockey team sharing sweat/saliva and legit played with people who said they "had Covid" because I wanted my own immune system to "face it" and "beat it on it's own". It's called natural immunity!!! We all have it but doctors tell you you need (X,Y,Z) because they are paid by (X,Y,Z)
