First off get some long term plans they can be simple like having a house and financial stability nothing fancy. Achievable and realistic goals.

Set aside 30 mins a day to write them down. Basic goals make your life so much easier. Next look for what's available and if there are options pick something that you can see yourself doing. Don't be too choosy just grab the first thing.

Cv is just a piece of paper to get an interview so dont over think it. Just copy paste some bullshit from samples online. The main thing you want is to get infront of a business owner and just talk to them.
Getting a low skill job is the easiest thing in the world. If you have a shower put on some clean clothes, show up on time it almost a guarantee.

The first step is getting your foot in the door, from there you can figuire out the rest. Its not rocket science the hard part is getting off your lazy ass.

If he trying to stay clear of drugs. Working on a kitchen isn't the best place to go.the long hour hour consists pressure of tje environment. He'll probably relapse. I worked in commercial kitchen for 18 years
