Why do Canadian geese prefer pooping while walking, while seagulls commonly poop while flying?

I'm very glad you asked!
Canadian geese often poop while walking because they spend a lot of time grazing on grass and moving slowly on land! Their digestion is continuous, and since they’re almost always eating while walking, the waste just comes out naturally as they go!
Seagulls, on the other hand, spend much of their time flying over open water or beaches where landing frequently isn’t practical! By pooping mid-flight, seagulls can keep moving, lighten their load, and sometimes even deter predators or competitors below!
It’s really just an adaptation to their different lifestyles and habitats!
