Alright, its time to open the box again.

10max or barb combat does more damage?

Context : PVM + Berserk
ie : ar doesnt matter (from 10max charm), berserk gives +15% per level.

Dont talk about PvP, WW and stuff.
thanks

topic is yours.

14 max optimal but 10 max is viable.

Just remember this:

+10 Max damage is multiplied by 1060% converted magic damage based on your Berserk Skill level including Maxed out synergies.

The +15% Combat skill GC is crap in comparison.

guys, thx indeed i agree 10 is lower than 14. Thanks.

Alright, so let make it simple

i use a grief on pb : average damage = 430, +1000% (berserk) +200% might aura (merc)

now, according to my calculation, you are both wrong :

with +10 max (ie +5 damage average) the calculation is the following :

435 x 1000% x 200% = 5220 dmg

with +barb combat, the calculation is the following :

430 x 1000% x 200% x15% = 5,285.25

am i wrong? do i miss something?

Why do you multiple with 15% instead of adding it up to the 1000% i.e. 1015%

Okay... try this.

The +10 Max dmg GC = 5 avg dmg. Thus you are CORRECT. However, it only applies to the Phaseblades damage, NOT the ADDED damage from Grief runewod.

EDIT: sorry thought you were using a Grief Phase blade.

#2 EDIT:

1000% or 1015% of what damage?
Since you replaced the +10 Max damage with a Combat skiller, what damage is applied to what you are using?

Have you tested it out on the character screen? Just swap each charm.

Actually after what I typed I had a different thought. I can still be wrong since it has been over a decade playing (only LoD) and D2;r mechanics maybe different.

My Berserker uses Grief PB as well, but I created that in LoD v 1.09 (late patch including 1.10 runewords and Keys, Organs and Uber Tritram).

The Combat skiller should yield more damage when using the Grief runeword as it increases the "Added" Damage which is applied after the Weapons Base damage multiplied. That is why you can not see it on the Character Screen.

The +10 or 14 Max damage GC only applies to the Weapons Base damage, NOT the Added damage of the Grief Runeword.

Example, you have 1000% Berserk conversion to Magic damage to +350 Added Damage (minimum and maximum) ... 35,000k (magical) dmg right? Won't appear on the Character Screen, just the weapons base damage.

EDIT: this is why I said a decade ago, the Berserk barb deals more damage than a Hammerdin, the Hammerdin is better at crowd control.

i dont get your point but.. i see an error : 350 x 1000% is 3500 dmg mate
